Make your Flows indexable in search engines

Updated over 2 months ago

Want your FlowShare documents to be discoverable on Google and other search engines? With our new setting, you can make your flows publicly visible and searchable. Here's how to do it — and what to consider before you do.

How to make a Flow searchable

  1. Go to the Flow Library in the FlowShare Portal.

  2. Find the Flow you want to make public.

  3. Click on the three-dot menu next to the flow.

  4. Select one of the Visibility status from the following options:

    • Private – Only visible to you.

    • Public (with a link) – Anyone with the link can view the flow, but it won’t appear in search engines.

    • Public (visible in search) – Publicly accessible and discoverable in Google and other search engines.

Once set to Public (visible in search):

The flow will be added to the sitemap.

  • Search engines are allowed to crawl the page.

  • It may take a few days for the page to appear in search results.

When To use search indexing

Have you captured a valuable, well-documented process that could help others?

  • Want to showcase your expertise as the creator of a process?

  • Looking to share a flow that others in your industry or community could benefit from?

  • Hoping to gain visibility and share your insights more broadly?

Then making your flow public and searchable is the best way to raise awareness and help others discover your work through Google or other search engines. This is especially useful for Templates, Guides and tutorials, Best-practice workflows

By enabling indexing, you're contributing to the broader knowledge community — and putting your name (and expertise) on the map.

When Not to use search indexing

Before you make a flow searchable, ask yourself:

  • Does this flow include sensitive or private information?

  • Is there any personal data, internal business process, or customer detail?

If yes, do not enable search visibility. Instead, keep it Private or Public (with a link).

Remember, you are responsible for the content you publish.
Always review your flow carefully before making it visible to the world.

How to Remove a Flow from the search index?

Changed your mind? No problem.

To remove a flow from search:

  1. Go back to the three-dot menu.

  2. Change visibility to Private.

Once it's private:

  • The flow will be removed from our sitemap.

  • Search engines will be notified to stop indexing it.

  • It may take a few day for the page to disappear from search results.
