Settings for Two-Factor Authentication

Updated this week

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your FlowShare Portal account. In addition to your password, you will need a unique code generated on your mobile device to log in.

Setting Up 2FA

To enable 2FA on your account, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the FlowShare Portal.

  2. Navigate to your Profile page.

  3. Locate the security or 2FA settings section and select the option to Set up 2FA.

  4. You will see a QR Code displayed on your screen.

Using the Authenticator App

  1. Open your Authenticator app (e.g. Microsoft or Google) on your mobile device.

  2. Select the option to add a new account and choose "Work or school account" (or "Other" depending on your specific app version).

  3. Select Scan a QR code.

  4. Point your camera at the QR code displayed on the FlowShare Portal.

  5. Once scanned, the app will generate a 6-digit verification code.

  6. Type this code into the designated field on the FlowShare Portal.

  7. Click Confirm to finalize the setup.

Logging In with 2FA

Once 2FA is enabled, your login process will change slightly:

  1. Enter your Email and Password as usual.

  2. You will be prompted to enter a verification code.

  3. Open your authenticator app to find the current code for FlowShare.

  4. Enter the code into the login screen to access your account.

  5. If you choose “Remember this device” then it will not ask for the verification code for a while.

Backup Codes and Account Recovery

Saving Backup Codes

When you successfully set up 2FA, you will be provided with a set of Backup Codes.

  • Crucial: Please save these codes in a secure location (e.g., a password manager or a secure note).

  • These codes allow you to log in even if you do not have your phone.

What if I lose my device?

If you have lost your mobile device or cannot access the authenticator app:

  1. Proceed to the login page.

  2. When asked for the code, use one of your saved Backup Codes instead.

What if I lose my device and my backup codes?

If you have lost both your authentication device and your backup codes, you will not be able to log in yourself. Please contact our support team for assistance.
